When it comes to Marvel's Armored Avengers, the clothes make the Iron Men, and with the advent of his new ongoing series, IRON MAN 2.0, James "War Machine" Rhodes has a fresh set of armor headed his way.
Here for the very first time, feast your eyes on the latest iteration of War Machine as designed by artist Barry Kitson, who teams with writer Nick Spencer on IRON MAN 2.0 beginning with issue #1 on January 19. We've already covered some of the challenges Rhodey will be facing when he sets up shop as the new "government Iron Man" reporting to Tony Stark nemesis General Babbage, and he'll need all the help he can get, so this upgrade comes just in the nick of time.
"Wars aren?t fought the way they used to be, and if Rhodey still wants to embody the cutting edge of military technology for 21st-century warfare, he has to evolve or die," says IRON MAN 2.0 editor Alejandro Arbona. "Dropping a tank into Kabul isn?t going to defeat insurgent cells, and zooming over North Korea in an F-16 isn?t going to shed light on possible secret nuclear refinement facilities.
"Rhodey?s new armor, an upgrade to become Iron Man 2.0, emphasizes stealth, recon, infiltration, and combat readiness when boots hit the ground.
